Alice’s brother is dead, but she is pretty certain he’s not supposed to be.

Desperate to reach him before it’s too late, she embarks on a metaphysical journey through electric currents, airwaves, VHS tapes, telephone wires, and dreams. Will determination and sheer will be enough for the universe, just this once, to make an exception?

“It is a curious thing, the death of a loved one. We all know that our time in this world is limited, and that eventually all of us will end up underneath some sheet, never to wake up. And yet it is always a surprise when it happens to someone we know. It is like walking up the stairs to your bedroom in the dark, and thinking there is one more stair than there is. Your foot falls down, through the air, and there is a sickly moment of dark surprise as you try and readjust the way you thought of things.” ― Lemony Snicket, Horseradish

SPRUCE STREET is an exploration of longing, grief, nostalgia, and consequently, love, but it also serves as a warning: that being human comes with spiritual and emotional costs. Created and performed by Allison Kelly, SPRUCE STREET is a convergence of media and memory; a ghost story told intimately between performer and snapshots of a forgotten life.

Blind Date Experience available for the showing on Sept 9 @ 10PM!
