thINKingDANCE
In partnership with thINKingDANCE, three writers read their work about Cannonball 2026 dance performances:
Megan Mizanty reads her writing on If Ever by five two dance company, performed at Icebox.
Through the lens of six characters’ experiences over the course of an evening, If ever explores the complexities of platonic and romantic intimacies.
five two dance company is a women-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2021 by Olivia Passarelli and Sophie Gray-Gaillard.
Xander Cobb reads their writing on room/in/nation by Zeze Schorsch, performed at the Project Space at Asian Arts Initiative.
room/in/nation is as interactive and anti-disciplinary of a performance as real life is, playing out differently each performance.
Zeze Schorsch (she/they) is hungry, horny, hairy, haunted and uses any artistic medium to deal with that. Her work usually needs to happen in front of people, though.
E. Wallis Cain Carbonell reads their writing on Agos y Viento by AniMalayaWorks Collective, performed at Icebox.
Agos (water currents in Tagalog) Y Viento (wind in Spanish) is a contemporary, multimodal Sarswela inspired by Philippine theater styles popular during Spanish colonial era.
AniMalayaWorks Collective is a family-centered, intergenerational, multimodal, cross-cultural, socio-political dance theater collective.
